


On January 28, 2026, the Management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited officially commissioned the newly renovated Ugha House in Araromi Obu, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to community development, cultural preservation, and sustainable partnerships.
The commissioning ceremony saw the attendance of the Managing Director of RENL, Olivier Odoukou, the Ajobu-Obu of Araromi-Obu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adelola Aderemi, respected chiefs, elders, community leaders, and members of the host community, alongside RENL’s management team.
In his remarks, the Ajobu-Obu of Araromi-Obu Kingdom, His Royal Highness Adelola Aderemi expressed his kind appreciation to RENL’s management for the renovation of the Ugha House, describing the structure as a symbol of tradition, leadership, and communal harmony. He also commended the management of RENL for its consistent contributions to the development and wellbeing of the Araromi Obu community over the years.
In a moment of great honour and recognition, the Managing Director of RENL, Olivier Odoukou, was presented with the Sword of Victory, a symbolic gesture of trust, respect, and appreciation from the community. He was also conferred with the prestigious honorary chieftaincy title of Bobajiroro of Araromi-Obu Kingdom, an advisory chieftaincy honour to the King, in recognition of his leadership, partnership with the community, and commitment to sustainable development.
On his part, the Managing Director, Olivier Odoukou, appreciated His Royal Majesty and the members of the community for the honour conferred on him. He emphasized that the renovation of the Ugha House is part of RENL’s continued commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) towards its host communities and he assured that the company would continue to do all it can to support the community and its people.
