On July 7th Michelin development Corporation was incorporated in Nigeria under the Companies and Allied Matters Act as a private limited liability company on with the name Michelin Development Company Limited.
in 1996 in Waterside Rubber Estates limited
SIPH, a member of SIFCA Group took over Michelin interest in the company and became the majority shareholder, thereby switching ownership and management from Michelin Group to SIFCA Group.
On June 5th the Company changed its name from Michelin Development Company Limited to Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited
in December the companies Utagba-Uno Rubber Estates Limited, Osse River Rubber Estates Limited, Araromi Rubber Estates Limited, Waterside rubber Estates Limited under its management were merged into RENL in. They now operate as sites in RENL.
In all our activities, RENL ensures high level of respect for the environment, with strict procedures for waste collection, management and disposal. It is in the light of this environmental consciousness that the RENL management ensured the attainment of the ISO 14001:2015 EMS Certification in 2019 which was sustained in all operations till December, 2021. However, in ensuring compliance to global best practices RENL applied for Integrated Management System certification in ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS), 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHS) and 9001: Quality Management System (QMS).
