



As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and commitment to sustainable host‑community development, Management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited commissioned the newly renovated Edion Hall in the Iguobazuwa community. The project underscores the company’s focus on delivering long‑term social value and strengthening community institutions through targeted, impact‑driven interventions.
The commissioning ceremony, which held on Friday 24th of April 2026, was attended by the Managing Director of RENL, Olivier Odoukou, members of the company’s management team, the Odionwere of Iguobazuwa community Pa. Edward Edoghayeobare Igbinovia, and a large gathering of community members. The commissioning ceremony featured formal remarks and goodwill messages.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director, Olivier Odoukou, emphasized that host communities remain central to RENL’s operations and long‑term vision. In his address, he stated that the construction of the Edion Hall reflects the company’s deliberate effort to ensure that its growth and success translate into tangible benefits for host communities as they are the stakeholders in the company’s operation. He also stated that, the Edion hall is a symbol of appreciation and continued commitment to supporting community development in practical and meaningful way.
On his part, the SPRC of RENL Dayo Ikusika, delivered a goodwill message during the ceremony, providing further insight into the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility philosophy and strategic approach to community engagement. The message highlighted RENL’s ongoing CSR initiatives, which are designed to promote peaceful coexistence, support sustainable social development, and strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships with host communities. The SPRC emphasized that these initiatives form an integral part of RENL’s responsible business practices and reflect the company’s commitment to creating shared value, fostering trust, and supporting long‑term community resilience.
The Edion Hall project, which was partly sponsored and executed by RENL Management, was formally handed over to the Iguobazuwa community during the ceremony. The facility is designed to serve as an important centre for community meetings, traditional governance, and cultural activities, providing a dignified and functional space for the preservation of local heritage.
Responding on behalf of the community, the Odionwere of Iguobazuwa Pa. Edward Edoghayeobare Igbinovia, expressed appreciation to RENL management for the project, commending the company for its responsiveness and consistent engagement with the community. He described the Edion Hall as a timely and valuable intervention that will enhance community administration and cultural preservation for present and future generations.
