On Friday 2 nd September, 2022, the Management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited handed over two modern Town halls to host communities to the Odionwere and people of Aifesoba and Ikpoba Communities, both in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.
Speaking shortly before the handing over ceremony, the Public Relations Manager of the Company, Dayo Ikusika who represented the Managing Director Olivier Odoukou, noted that the gesture is in fulfilment of RENL’s commitment to the development of its host communities across the states where it operates. He noted that RENL’s continuous investment in the development of host communities is another way of showing appreciation for the peaceful environment these communities have provided the Company for business to strive. The Public Relations boss maintained that the Company will continue to do its best to ensure that host communities are given the right place in the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility plan as this will help to create economic viability for these communities, thereby arresting any form of social vices. He thanked the community heads for their cooperation so far and sued for its sustenance. While thanking the Management of the Company for their benevolence, the Iyase of Udo, HRH Chief Patrick Igbinidu JP, who was represented by Chief Obarisiagbon Osabuohien said the gesture has again proven RENL’s undying commitment to the development of host communities. He said that, with the handing over of the projects, the benefiting communities are full of joy and appreciation to RENL’s management and will make sure that the projects will be guided jealously. He conveyed the appreciation of the Iyase of Udo, HRH Chief Patrick Igbinidu JP to the management of the Company and assured them of the communities’ continuous collaboration in area of ensuring peace and protection of its properties.
On his part, the Odionwere of Aifesoba Community, Pa Moses Ogunrobo expresses the community’s gratitude to management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited for their continuous effort in developing the community. Pa Moses Ogunrobo noted that the townhall has brought development to the community in one hand and in the other hand will afford community people an enabling point for convergence and ceremony that might arise in the future. He said the community will make good use of the facility and project it with all sense of commitment as it remains a mother project to them.
The ceremony later witnessed the handing over of the keys to the townhall by RENL’s Public Relations Manager, Dayo Ikusika to the community representatives amidst jubilation.
