In commemoration of the 2026 International Workers’ Day celebration, the Management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited joined the rest of the world in celebrating Workers’ Day across all its operational sites, honoring the dedication, resilience, and commitment of its workforce.

The celebration which took place on the 1st of May, 2026 simultaneously across the company sites of operation was centred on the theme, “Insecurity and Poverty: The Bane of Decent Work” highlighting the pressing challenges facing the modern workplace and the need for safer, more inclusive, and empowering work environments.

In his opening remarks, the Managing Director of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited, Olivier Odoukou emphasized the company’s continued commitment to employee welfare, workplace safety, and professional growth for all staff. He noted that the management remains intentional about implementing policies and initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of staff and creating opportunities for employees to grow within the system.

He further stressed the importance of maintaining a safe working environment, encouraging the employees to remain safety conscious because their physical and emotional health remains a priority for the company, as it contributes significantly to their productivity and overall success. He then urged the staff to make adequate use of the medical facilities and healthcare systems which have been provided by the company and are readily available to cater for their needs.

The highlight of the event reflected a deeply joyous and colourful celebration, as staff across all departments came together in unity to make the occasion memorable and impactful with well coordinated match past by various departments, vibrant traditional dance performances from different tribes, engaging talent showcases by employees and gender awareness presentation that emphasized inclusivity, respect and equality within the workplace.

The event concluded with staff expressing appreciation to the management for its continuous efforts towards improving employee welfare and creating opportunities to celebrate the employees in the company.
