

Marking another step in its continued commitment to community engagement and sustainable development, the management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited has commenced its First Quarter Relations meeting with host communities across all its various sites of operation.
The meeting which held from 23rd of March to the 31st of March 2026, provided an important platform to strengthen collaboration, dialogue, and address salient issues between RENL and its host communities. The first quarter relations meetings were attended by the Relations team led by the SPRC from each site and the members of the relations committees representing the respective host communities.
In his welcome address, the Relations Specialist of Osse River site, Festus Usuanlele expressed appreciation to the committee members for maintaining peaceful and cordial relationships with the company. He commended the communities for their continued cooperation and collaboration which has contributed to a conducive environment for RENL’s operations.
He also highlighted RENL’s commitment to promoting women inclusion in community engagements and development initiatives, noting that encouraging women’s participation is essential in fostering gender equality and strengthening community development. He also emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable practices in order to mitigate the effects of climate change and protect the environment. He then reiterated the company’s zero tolerance for child labour, stressing that RENL strongly believes every child has the right to education and should not be engaged in labour.
In their response, the members of the Relations Committee expressed gratitude to RENL for its continuous support and commitment to community development. They appreciated the management for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including scholarships provided to indigent students within the host communities and the various community development projects executed and commissioned by the company which has significantly contributed to improving the standard of living of people within the host communities. They assured that the communities will continue to work in partnership with the management of RENL to ensure the sustainable growth and development of the company and the host communities.
