To further strengthen the existing relationship with host communities, management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited held its first quarterly Relations Committee meetings for the year 2025. These meetings are aimed at addressing common matters between the company and the host communities in a peaceful and collaborative manner.
The meetings of the first quarter of 2025 took place from the 17th to the 27th of February 2025 at the company's sites and in some communities. The management team of RENL was led by the Security and Public Relations Coordinator, Dayo Ikusika.
Dayo Ikusika welcomed the committee members to the first meetings for 2025 and thanked them for providing an enabling environment for RENL to operate. He also informed the committee of the recent achievement of the Company in becoming Top Employer Certified and also being the first company in Nigeria to be awarded a Best Practice by the Top Employer Institute. He noted that the feat was not achieved by the company alone but also with the collaboration of the host communities who always render their support to the company.
On his part, the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager, Jonathan Okosisi, thanked the committee members for complying with the company's safety policies and appealed to them to keep them up. He therefore indulged the committee members to collaborate with RENL in its drive to fight against child labour in both its sites of operations and host communities. He thereafter admonished host communities to desist from bush burning to save the climate and preserve the forest for future generations.
