The Managing Director of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited Olivier Odoukou on Wednesday 29^th November 2023 was inducted into the hall of fame of the prestigious Edo State Polytechnic, Usen as he bags the fellowship award of the institution during the 5^th convocation ceremony of the school.

The award which was in recognition of his immense contribution to the societal development through human capacity development scheme of his Company, Technical assistance to Rubber out-growers development and most importantly Corporate Social Responsibility projects to host communities.

In a convocation lecture titled Entrepreneurial Development as a musketeer to economic growth, Professor Kingsley Ufuoma Omoyibo of the department of Sociology and Anthropology, University of Benin, stated that Entrepreneurship development remains key to economic development of any society. Professor Omoyibo admonished Technically oriented Institutions of learning like the Edo State Polytechnic Usen, to put more efforts in training manpower that will be self-dependents and create jobs for the teaming youths.

In his remark, the Rector of the polytechnic, Professor Omoruyi noted that MD Olivier Odoukou has impacted lives not only within his Company, Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited, but across the communities bordering the Company’s site of operation in Edo.

He maintained that the choice of Olivier Odoukou was based on excellent performance as Managing Director of RENL who has turned around the Company within the few years of his leadership. He also pointed out that since the inception of Olivier led management team, Students from the Institution gets easy engagement for Industrial attachment and thereby helping to build them for the task ahead in the larger world.

He congratulates the MD and other award recipients for their contributions to societal development through their commitments which to the Board of the Institution remain top notch.

 In an acceptance speech, the Managing Director of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited, Olivier Odoukou thanked the Institution management and the board for the honour done him and dedicated the award to his management team for the collaborative effort they have put in to achieving these results.

He further promised to create a synergy with the Institution to define a stronger way of collaborating for the overall good of both parties.

The award ceremony witnessed the presence of dignitaries from all worlds of life including the Edo State Commissioner of Education, Professor Joan Oviawe among others.
