Conserving Nature: RENL sensitize host communities on Bio-diversity Protection
On Friday 13th of June 2025, Management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited held a sensitization program to educate host communities on the need to protect our environment.
The sensitization program, which aimed at educating community members on the protection of biodiversity, was themed "Fight Against Climate Change" and saw the attendance of representatives from RENL and host communities among others.
Addressing the Gathering, Relation Specialist Osse River Festus Usuanlele, conveyed the Managing Director gratitude to the communities for providing a conducive environment for the company's operations. He then emphasized the negative impact of deforestation and wildlife hunting on the environment, highlighting the importance of tree planting and wildlife conservation.
Furthermore, he encouraged community members to take responsibility for raising awareness on the fight against climate change and to report any illegal logging, hunting and other harmful activities to the environmental. He added that tree planting is not just for decoration but serves critical purposes such as producing oxygen, preventing wind damage and supporting biodiversity.
On their part, members of the community members expressed appreciation to RENL management for the great initiative, acknowledging the company's effort in promoting environment sustainability.
