RENL commissions newly constructed bridge named after Gabriel Amadin’s memories
On Thursday 17th of April 2025, the management of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited took its commitment to developing its host communities to another level as they commissioned the newly constructed bridge at Iguiye/Iguiyase community.
The construction of the bridge is aimed at reducing the travel time of company equipment and the community people in the neighbourhood. The commissioning was attended by Top management staff from RENL, the wife and son of the past Corporate Affairs Executive of RENL, Late Gabriel Amadin, and community members from Iguiye and Iguiyase communities.
The Managing Director of Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited, Olivier Odoukou expressed his appreciation to the project team and members of the communities for all their contributions in making the project a success. He noted that the project has been ongoing since 2019, and said that "it is an honour for me to be here to commission the bridge which has been an ongoing project for a while now and I want to appreciate the project team for all their efforts, and also the communities for their approval and contribution to the success of the project".
He then added that the bridge will be commissioned in honour of Late Corporate Affairs Executive, Gabriel Amadin who contributed immensely to the growth and development of the company and in honour of him the bridge will be named "Gabriel Amadin Bridge".
In appreciation, Edith Amadin, the wife of Late Gabriel Amadin thanked the Management of RENL for commissioning the newly constructed Bridge in honour of her Late Husband Gabriel Amadin as it shows that the company recognizes the contributions of its staff who had served the company diligently.
Members of the communities thanked the MD and his management team for constructing the bridge, which had been the dream and desire of the community members as the bridge, will not only benefit the company but also the communities around.
High point of the event was official commissioning of the bridge which was led by the Managing Director alongside wife and son of Late Gabriel Amadin, staff of RENL and community members. Emphasis was also made on safety precautions. Everyone was advised to make adequate use of all safety signs and speed bumps as the expected speed limit on the bridge is 20kms per hour.
